Hallo,

I bought a used Sun Ultra2 workstation with an erased harddisk
and want to install Solaris 8 or Soilaris 9 an taht mshine.
My problem ist, that the mshine hangs after typing the boot-cdrom
commanf in OF.
If I do a probe-scsi the mashine finds its harddisk and the
cdrom.

Is there a switch to avoid it to boot from cdrom which I have
to unlock or something like that ?

What could be possible sources of error ?

Which CD are you using and which OS ?

Do you have other Sun boxes that could be used for jumpstart ?

I got it up and running after trying several CDROM-device.

Hence it was a hardware defect.
