Deep Link into PDF with Acrobat Reader under Linux

  • Follow

Hi folks,

from Acrobat Reader 6.0 on, it is possible to open the reader and direct
it to a named destination (http...my.pdf#NamedDest). Unfortunately,
Adobe only offers Acroread 5.09 for Linux - and for that it is not
documented that the open parameters are working...

Until yesterday I believed that they will not work, but then I saw
somebody who opened a pdf file with konqueror (KDE web browser) 3.3
using the same acroread, I'm using and boom: It pointed directly to the
named destination.

I definitely want this for my old Suse Linux 8.2. with konqueror 3.0.4.
or an up-to-date Mozilla browser. Does anybody know if that is possible?
How is konqueror 3.3 doing this? Any hints would be helpful (besides the
obviuos one to update to a new KDE version which I dont want.)
