How to combine two scanned pages into one page?

I need to scan one article from a news paper,
somehow this article is large than one A4
page, so I could not fit it into one A4
page, it takes about 1.2 A4 page in terms of
area size.

I would like to scan it first into 2 pdf pages,
then wonder if I could scale them a bit smaller
and fit them into one A4 page.

Anyone can help? I tried various tools of Adobe 5.x,
still could not figure how to do this. I know one
easy way is to use copy machines to scale the
article smaller, but I thought Adobe may have
some tricks to do "digital manipulation".

Thanks

Scan to a TIFF. Finish your digital manipulation before transferring
to PDF, which is best thought of as a final format.

Hi, Aandi,

Thanks for help, I will try your method.

Any suggestions on which softwares for tiff
image manipulation like resize? Seems to me
the MS Paint and Imaging do not have the resize
function.

If you don't have a suitable tool like Photoshop, place the images
into Word.

Drop-Down/Text Box Combination?
I am a javascript newbie and did not see anything quite like this in sections 1-5 of the FAQ or on a Google search. Is there a generic javascript example of a compound drop-down/text box, i.e., if the user selects an item from the drop-down, the selected item populates the text box, but the user can also type their own ad-hoc value into the text box if desired? I would like to include such a control in a php/mysql web form I am developing. bonehead a ecrit : > I am a javascript newbie and did not see anything quite like this in > sections 1-5 of the FAQ or on a Google search. &...

Combining hex values in a string

What I need to do is to combine them to produce the value 16842648, but I can't seem to figure it out. I know how to read and construct hex numbers in general that's not a problem, but not when the numbers have been grouped like this. Have to say I'm a little lost. The string I have looks like this: "\x98\xff\x00\x01"; I can easily get the numbers from this into a list so then I have th...

How to combine blocks and recursiveness
Hello, I am trying to code a method that accepts a block... easy. The problem is that this method is recursive, so I don't know how to pass the block through the recursive calls. Favourite software for improving film scans
I'd like to ask the newsgroup what is your favourite/best/most effective piece of software for impriving your film scans - I nominate NeatImage which does a fantastic job on film grain with hardly any loss of detail (some may disagree and say the final result looks 'plasticky'). I have however never got on well with Focus Magic - I can never replicate the results on their site. One piece I have never tried is Genuine Fractals. I'm always looking for new stuff that can bring out more detail, improve (apparent) focus and reduce noise and grain, both for prints and on scree...

Getting right colours from a scan to a print?
Here's the problem - I scanned a colour photo on my Epson perfection 1240U at 1200 dpi and saved the file. It looked fine on screen. I then printed it to my Epson 830U photo printer. How to get angular momentum from two quaternions?
I have a physics engine that I'm using in a simulation. As part of a Verlet intergration step, I need to be able to calculate the angular momentum for a rigid body, based on the start and end orientation of the body.
