How to merge protected files?

I have a protected pdf file, that I need to merge to one of my unprotected
pdf files.
Any idea?

Take the protection off (both files) first.

Acrobat doesn't attempt to merge protected files, even if editing is
allowed, partly because of the ambiguity about what the security
should be on the resulting file.

PDF Meld from FyTek will do this.  You'll need to know the owner password on
the protected document however.  The program is free for personal use (most
of the functions anyway, such as this).
