large (page size) PDF problems

  • Follow

I have a PDF that's 45 inches long, as indicated on screen in Acrobat
Reader. I would like to be able to (a) print it and/or (b) put it on
my PDA.

(a) When I print it, it gives me the first x inches of the files,
where x is the vertical size of whatever paper I'm using. Is there a
way to get Reader to split it onto more than one page?

(b) I installled the PDF on my Handspring (Adobe PDF Reader for Palm
2.0), and it's too big for the PDA to handle. Is there some way to
split the file into pages so that I can open each separately on the
palm.

Please note that I don't have the full version of Acrobat and there's
very little reason for me to spend that kind of money. This one
problem is not worth the $175+ it would cost.

Thanks.

Yes, 5 and 6. Same thing, except that 6 adds long straight, seemingly
random linesat all angles, but these lines don't appear in the screen
PDF.

Did you check Reader 6 printing options? Cause I can print long pages
with my Reader 6, but I don't know if this feature is provided by
Reader itself or by Mac OSX...

The only options that affect the printing just print the entire file
on one sheet of paper, so the result is compressed to the point of
uselessness.
