unable to install adobe pdf printer from networked machine

  • Follow

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro installed on 10.0.0.1. I'm trying to make
it so that another computer can print out to the printer that Acrobat
8 installed but get this error every time I try:

The server for the 'Adobe PDF Converter' printer does not have the
correct printer driver installed. If you want to
search for the proper driver, click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel and
contact your network administrator or original
equipment manufacturer for the correct printer driver.

I click OK and then am prompted for a *.inf file. Where do I get this
*.inf file from?

Simply buy another copy of Acrobat Professional. Sharing the Acrobat
printer is not allowed (it is usually asserted) under the Acrobat
EULA.

Hmmm - I guess it's Windows, then, that's sharing the printer by
default?

Also, are there maybe free products that let you "print" to a PDF via
a shared printer?
