I have a Dell with the Vista OS. It came with Adobe Reader 7.0. Just
recently, when I click on a pdf file I get a Windows message saying that
there is a known compatibility problem between that version of Reader and
the OS. So, I found that there is a version 8.0 available.
The question is- must I first uninstall 7 first before installing 8??
Thanks,
Joe

Maybe. You can try, or ask the MS Vista people. This is not a pdf issue.

It has been my experience with Acrobat Reader to always uninstall the old
version before installing a new version.
That is until I replaced my reader with a better one, PDF Viewer by Tracker
software. Personal opinion, of course.
