3 Subfigure placement inside figure

I am currently trying to place 3 figures (1 tall rectangle and 2
square, which are basically the size of the rectangular figure cut in
half) together so the total figure looks like a square with the
rectangular subfigure taking the left half of the total figure square
and the 2 square subfigures taking the right half of the total figure
square.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you,

Probably not the answer you are looking for, but I would simply use a 
image manipulation program (GIMP, Photoshop or the like) to create one 
large figure, with the subfigures placed as I see fit. 

I am sure there also is some LaTeX solution involving boxes and the 
like, but for something that crops up only once every so many years, I 
simply can not be bothered.
