In the decade or so that I was not using Latex, citing online documents has=
 become much more common. I know about the url package, but could someone p=
lease suggest a suitable bibtex entry type (misc, etc.) and bibtex fields t=
o use when citing online documents. Common things I cite are presentations =
(from conferences, academics, and US Government) and federal statutes, e.g.=

deals with the problem, but is in need of updating.

i don't doubt there are biblatex techniques that enable such citations
better, but i've not enough fluency with biblatex to sort out an
extension to the answer.  (mostly i try to keep up with new packages and
what they enable for faq-related things; however, [a] i'm imperfect and
miss the import of some packages, and [b] biblatex has thrown so many
things in the air that i've not really caught up with it.  with ctan,
faq and a real job, something has to give...)
