What version of pgf will be in TeXLive 2010?

  • Follow

Hi, I've been using a recent cvs version of pgf/tikz for a while because
it has some useful additions to text formatting in nodes. This is
especially useful for another package that I use a lot (tikz-qtree).
Will that version be included in TL 2010? From the looks of the pgf
sourceforge site, versions don't change very quickly.

Although maintaining a personal version of pgf isn't a problem for me,
it's not great to tell beginners that they need to do that, so it would
be nice if a more updated version of pgf will be included in TL 2010.

Does anyone here know, or should I ask the question elsewhere?

Thanks

as far as I know they will use the version of CTAN

you might want to ask the pgf people to do more releases.

my understanding, too. it's not changed for some time.

of course, uploading a new version now wouldn't help. tl 2010 is well
and truly frozen until the point of release.

Thanks, Robin and Lars. Putting newer version on CTAN would still help
since it would be updatable by the update manager.

If you mean the TeX Live Update Manager, tlmgr, then that
will not update anything until TL is unfrozen.

Being on CTAN means a package will eventually get into
TL updates, but it must first be repackaged for TL. The
freeze means that this will not occur until the release
takes place.
