Is there any site where I can by Unix time ( thru VPN ) for studying? 
I am looking for some site like http://www.netshare400.com/

But in the time of Internet, cheap PC and free software, it's rather
ridicule to be wanting to use a unix box remotely (and only in a
single user account), to study it.

If you  have money to  spend buy  a new $300  PC and install  Linux or
FreeBSD on  it, with the  sources and documentations, and  you'll have
matter to study.

If you don't, just  get an old PC (anything with at  least a 386, 8 MB
RAM, and 4 GB HD would be  more than enough to install Linux and study
it).

I'd rather disagree. If you are learning to drive a car, you don't begin
with buying spare parts and assembling them in your garage.

You are driving with instructor first. Better to start with running and
tuned up system with qualified system administrator at charge, and start
to install your own system only when you are know how to use it.

I have a copy of the Bell System Technical Journal, July-August 1978
with an article titled "The Unix Time-Sharing System", copyright 1974,
written by Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson. This was the official name
of Unix back then. 

the bottom line is that Unix was a time-sharing system from day 1. 

But, in answer to the original poster, there are many ISPs that provide
shell access as well as PPP access. One of these is TheWorld
(http://www.theworld.com). Their rates start at $9.89/Mo. 

Additionally, there are several Unix/Linux systems available at
http://www.testdrive.compaq.com where you can log in and take a look at
some systems that run on Compaq (eg. HP) hardware, both 32 and 64 bit,
Intel and Alpha.

Also: check www.testdrive.hp.com -- open access to HP-UX, Tru64, *BSD,
and Linux.
