How to mount UnixWare 7.1.0 share on Mac OS X 10.4.x

I am hoping from what I have seen in the FAQs for this group that
someone might be able to assist me. I have posted this in the past on
several Macintosh forums and news groups with no responses.

I have been unable authenticate to our SCO UNIXWare server (version
7.1.0) since upgrading to 10.4.x. We have one Mac running 10.3.9 that
has no difficulty mounting the share points. Using the same workgroup,
username and password, OS 10.4.x responds with "Could not connect the
the server becuase the name or password is not correct".

I have tried from terminal (using mount_smbfs), but get a message that
the mount failed: syserr = Authentication error.

I have managed for over a year now since I have a number of Windows
boxes I can make use of to transfer required files into another mount
point (on a NetWare server). I now need a solution because I am now
replacing the OS 10.3.9 machine with a new one with 10.4.8.

Are Mac OS X 10.5.8's iLife programs safe to use in Mac OS X 10.7.x and 10.8.x?
Hi. Someone told me that Mac OS X 10.7.x and 10.8.x do not come with iLife like the older Mac OS X versions (e.g., 10.5.x). I did not know this! Since my client uses iPhoto that came preinstalled on his old 2008 MacBook Pro's Mac OS X 10.5.x (10.5.8 right now), can he use the old one from 10.5.8? Or will he need a third party replacement (needs to import/copy the old image files) or buy a new iPhoto version for his photo(graph)s? I recalled he did not like iPhoto and wonder if the new one is any better. Dear All, I've just released the newest version of Mac Graphviz, featuring shapefile support and enhanced zoom. http://www.pixelglow.com/graphviz/ Shapefiles supported include PDF, EPS, PS, JPEG, PNG and all Quicktime formats. Either specify an absolute or relative (to working directory) file path, or a URL using the shapefile attribute. Developers can now also use the graphviz.framework directly with #include headers in C e.g. using Xcode "Add Frameworks..."; documentation is available from the main Graphviz site -- http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/graphviz/libguide.pdf Changes ------- Added drawer and zoom menu commands [DWa, NRi]. [wx 2.6.3, Mac OS X 10.4.8, gcc 4.0.1] extremely slow wxStyledTextCtrl::Colourise()
Hello, I'm developing a multi-platform source code editor with syntax-highlighting based on wxWidgets. I have a problem with the wxStyledTextCtrl::Colourise() function on the Mac platform. This function is extremely slow on Mac, e.g. it takes about 40 seconds to do the lexing of a file of 500 lines of c++ code, while the same function returns within 1 second on the Windows and Linux platforms using the same version of wxWidgets. (I'm using the wxSTC_LEX_CPP lexer). The problem appears when the user wants to scroll down the wxStyledTextCtrl : the slider blocks and th...

Hello, For any one that tried to download mysql-4.1.11 or mysql-4.12 for UnixWare 7.1.X I am sorry. I messed up the permissions. ZoomView problem in Mac OS X 10.2.x & 10.3.x
Hello Everyone This mail is sent to more groups and mailing lists in different countries, also groups, which normally not uses the English language as the native list language, so - PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER TO THIS MESSAGE! - but read it carefully and then follow the instructions regarding answering at the buttom of this mail. I have discovered a bug in Mac OS X 10.2.x and up to latest version 10.3.= 8. When you activate the controlpane *ZoomView* for enlargement and put it either in 'Normal mode' - i.e. black text on white background, - or in "Reverse Mode" - i.e. white text on black background. So today - Thursday, March 3rd, 2005, I contacted the Apple Support for dealers and professionals here and told them about the problem. The problem is as follows. - Activating ZoomView in normal mode does not change anything. Everything is, as it should be. - Activating ZoomView in reverse mode does not change anything. Everything is normal. Activating the zoom factor with _any_ value - fx. +1,5, 2.0, 3.0 etc. - now changes the behaviour of ZoomView, when you for example open Diskutility from the dock or the Controlpanes window. clicking on the Diskutility icon in the dock suddenly makes the arrow move to the lower left corner of the monitor's viewable area, _IF_ you do not touch the mouse right after clicking on the icon. clicking on one of the panes icons in the open Controlpane window makes the arrow moves to the lower left corner of the monitor...

Hi, I changed my Hard drive from a 4 GB to an 18 GB Travelstar (I posted early about using it). I have partitioned it to a 7.7 GB and a 9.2 GB. I installed 9.2 on the 7.7 GB and ran the 10.1.4 install (same way I did with my old drive) but this time, the 10 X install will not detect my 9.2 install, it will ask me to erase the hard drive contents. I then continued, then the install will just hang intermittently, one time during the time it will ask for the language and most often when it is copying the basic config files. *URGENT* Mac OS X 10.4.7 for INTEL Macs REVISED: Old update incomplete
I hate it when this happens. :-P Note that this post ONLY refers to: *INTEL Macs* PowerPC Macs are NOT affected. The original Mac OS X 10.4.7 update for Macintel machines was missing files related to OpenGL. DO NOT USE THE ORIGINAL UPDATE. Use the newly revised version that corrects this problem. What if you already ran the incomplete update? It is possible you can simply run the new update and you will be fine, but I have NOT verified this to be the case. For now, head over to Macintouch and MacFixIt for advice: <http://www.macintouch.com/> <http://www.macfixit.com/> ...

Mac OS X Kerberos Extras updated for Mac OS X 10.3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Just a reminder to coincide with today's release of Mac OS X 10.3 ("Panther"), the MIT Kerberos team has released an updated version of the Mac OS X Kerberos Extras that work with both Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther). The Mac OS X Kerberos Extras allow CFM-based applications, such as Eudora and Fetch, to work with OS X's built-in Kerberos. Older releases of the OS X Kerberos Extras will not work with Mac OS X 10.3. You must have the latest release (which was released back in June) for it to work with Panther. However, this new release is backwards compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 as well as supporting 10.3. [URGENT] Mac OS X 10.1 --> 10.1.5
Hi, I'm trying to install the update for Mac OS X 10.1.5, but it doesn't work. Message at the beginning of installation: "Installer Update is required for this update". I think I have the latest version of the installer (1.1), after installing "SecurityUpdate7-18-02.pkg" (which makes anyway impossible to do the installer update). What can I do? Thanks for help, Christophe ...
