Hi
I am running solaris 2.9. My /etc/shadow file is corrupted.
I do not have a backup.
How do I fix it?

You can't really--but you can recover partially. Have you tried logging
in under single user? If that doesn't work, what about booting from CD,
mounting the root volume, and renaming the bad /etc/shadow with an empty
one.
If you're lucky, you might have copies of opasswd and oshadow in /etc
from when you ran pwconv. If not, will pwconv create an /etc/shadow if
the entries in /etc/passwd have "*" for their passwords?
No backups, well that's your problem. You loose a toe for that one.
Here's a .45. Choose one you don't need for balance.

Hi,
boot Solaris from CD-ROM, mount the partition and change
your shadow-file.
