authentication problems

Ok I've got a silly litle problem here. A users account expired due to
inactivity, I went in and reset the password (which usually unlocks the
account as well). But the user still can't login. Below is the error
message, I am running SPARC Solaris 8. I have checked the account in
SMC and no roles are defined for any user on the box.
