Hi,
I have installed cygwin in my PC runnning Win XP. I have no problem
using x -query <IP of the server> to servers running Solaris 9 and
Solaris 10 but not servers running Solaris 8.
The symtom:
I can get the CDE login screen, I can login after supplying the login
name and password but it bounced back immediately to the login screen
again.
Any pointer is appreciated.

That usually means that the user doesn't have a home directory, or
that CDE can't write to it. Check /var/dt/Xerrors or look in the
user's .dt directory for error messages.
