Format Hanging Solaris 10

  • Follow

Folks,

Solaris 10 6/06

When I run format and select a disk I get:

Specify disk (enter its number): 0
selecting c1t0d0
[disk formatted]

From here the format command just hangs, doesn't display the disk and
I have to ^C to escape.. Has anyone seen this behaviour ? Is it a
known bug ?

Any help appreciated..

P.S. I have run devfsadm -Cv and am still seeing the format hang..
It's really annoying.

I often get this issue, sometimes it hangs for 5 seconds and other
times and hangs for 30 seconds. How long have you tried waiting? Is
the disk currently in use at all or did you just add it to the system?

Is the disk currently in use at all? Run the below command for me:

iostat -En|grep c1t0d0
