HBA execution throttle setting

  • Follow

Hi,

Which file must be edited for configuring the execution throttle
parameter of a qlogic HBA ?

/etc/system     (  line ---> hba0-execution-throttle=x;  )
or
/kernel/drv/qla2xxx.conf   (  line ---> set sd:sd_max_throttle = y  )

Any help would be appreciated. I am very confused.

Regards.

Hi,

Try this doc:

http://download.qlogic.com/drivers/49632/readme_FC_QLA_SolarisV5-1.pdf

Please look a little bit harder. This is from the doc:

It is possible to specify parameter values on a per instance basis for
the QLogic driver. The configuration file containing these parameters
is /kernel/drv/qla2300.conf file.

hba0-execution-throttle=16;

I have configured a few system including qlogic hba. As for as i know
that just use two command to find disk after you connected SAN well.
1=2E cfgadm -c configure Cx (x is the number in your system. you can find
it use cfgadm -al)
2=2E devfsadm=20
then format --->ok.

What my question is what happens if both /etc/system and
/kernel/drv/qla2300.conf files contain execution throttle settings?
Which one of these files are valid if their execution throttle settings
are different?

Thanks...
