How to avoid that the display turns off due to DPMS

  • Follow

Hi,

I am launching firefox on a account on a SunRay instead of bash shell
and having problems not getting the monitor tp powerdown after a while.

How do I do that I have tried xset -dpms before starting firefox without
success.

You need to disable Screen saver also. (xset s off)

Also make sure that you aren't have some form of autolock as part of
your session.

I think I have tried that but I will give it a try again.

But I might have been unclear with my qustion I do not have any window
manager running I have firefox instead if bash in /etc/passwd on this
account.
sponsor:x:150042:1000::/home/sponsor:/usr/local/bin/firefox

Screen lock is not activated I only need to move mouse to get the
display on.
