iscsi initiator needed
Hi all,
I am just starting to configure Solaris iSCSI and I wonder if there is a
software for Solaris iSCSI initiator (not CISCO)
I have in my lab several sun computers with Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 like:
SunFire v240,SunFire v120,SunFire v210,SunFire E280r
Enterprise 450,Enterprise 250, Blade 150.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thomas.

AFAIK there is only the iSCSI initiator from Cisco published along with
the 5420/5428 line of FC to iSCSI Routers.
If you've some budget to spend you might consider buying the Qlogic
iSCSI HBA (qla4010c), which should come with some initiator-like driver
since it contains a TOE and a iSCSI offload engine. Don't know if the
qla4040 is already available, this would also offer IPSec calculation
for the system. The card does not support Jumbo frames though!
Personally I believe that SW initators will provide a better bang for
the buck, especially when matched with a pure TOE card. The recent
benchmarks for Alacritech cards (M$ only) seem to suggest this.
If you locate a SW initiator for Solaris I'd be happy to learn about it.
HTH,
Jochen
