Reboot Solaris 8 With No Monitor

  • Follow

I'm running Solaris 8 on a Sparc 20. My monitor recently died and I
powered down incorrectly by directly turning off the computer. Upon
reboot, I will be prompted to log in as root and run FSCK. The
problem is, now I have no monitor. Can I telnet into the box and run
fsck? Ideally, I want the machine in it's normal idle state (but with
no monitor) so I can ftp, telnet and access files via SAMBA remotely.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

going in via serial would probably be a better choice.

And then enabling UFS logging so that a power loss probably won't
require boot-time intervention.
