Hi,
I have Realised that the foomatic PPDs under
/usr/lib/lp/model/ppd/system/foomatic
All have their defaults set to "Letter" size paper.
In Europe we have A4- size paper in our printers.
Should'nt the "Solaris Print Manager" Give the option to
change tihs to A4.
Or should we have two sets of foomatic PPDs with different
Default setup - A4 or Letter.
Printmanger copies the PPDs to /etc/lp/ppd and uncompresses them.
Is there a way to change the default Paper size in a PPD file
*DefaultPageSize: Letter
*DefaultPageRegion: Letter
*DefaultImageableArea: Letter
*DefaultPaperDimension: Letter
To A4 short of hand-editing the file ????
Regards Lars

Take a look at:
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/submitted/duplex_printing.html
and try
lpadmin -p myprinter -o media=A4

The lpadmin option " -o media=A4 " is not documented
in the lpadmin manpage.
