idl_idlbridge weirdness on unix systemsI encountered a strange problem today while working with IDL child
processes instantiated using the IDL_IDLBridge class. Specifically, I
want to be able to use a lot of subprocesses on a 4 CPU x 12-kernel
server, so I tried using 48 IDL_IDLBridge objects to test the system.
But no cigar. IDL hangs apparently at random. I narrowed down the
problem to the following.
The simple code below just instantiates an array of objects, and then
tries to destroy them one by one. What happens (for me) is that when
it encounters index ii=16, the entire IDL process hangs.
N = 17
b = objarr(N)
for ii=0, N-1 ...

electrical engineeringDear ALL,
I am workin on Fuzzy logic controller based active power filter where i have taken a
plant model frm where load voltage is sensed and is maintained at a
specified reference point using Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC Tool box
in SIMULINK) . I have taken 2 Input 1 Output FLC where voltage error
and the change in Voltage error are the 2 input signals and the outout
is my control signal given back to the filter.
Now my problem is when i run the simulation i get lots of error which
states as follows:

File fragments in the Age Of SAN?Hi,
Our files (mostly Rdb storage areas) are on an EVA8000. The LUNs are
RAID-5 stripesets which are diced, sliced and reformed into virtual
devices.
Given that files are thus already fragmented by design, does extra
fragmentation at the ODS-2 layer have any impact on performance?
Thanks,
Ron

DatacenterManager: awesome UNIX Performance Monitoring & Trend AnalysisDatacenterManager is an awesome automated unix performance monitoring &
trend analysis application (written Java, so it runs everywhere).
It requires no server agents (uses SSH), does automated inventories and
ultralight design polls 100,000 resources / minute all from a nice GUI.

Choppy framerate on dual cpu system (under Windows)Hi all!
I beg your pardon if this has been asked before, but I was not able
to find a similar topic in the knowledge base :(
I have a very simple (ie mono-threaded) fullscreen OpenGL app. It
works fine on many configurations, but on some dual cpu systems
framerate becomes really "choppy", ie it continually changes between,
say, 5fps and 200fps! Of course, the result is really bad (the
animation is not very smooth, as you may imagine)...
I dunno what could be the problem. It shouldn't be a problem with
timers because I use timeGetTime (I read that performance timers CAN
give pr...

Problem with fork inside a thread and system()Hi everybody,
I am experiencing an annoying problem with fork() and system()
In my program I need to launch the "pppd" from a thread, so, I create
a new process with fork and then in the child process I launch with
system the pppd to connect an embedded system to internet.
The problem is that pppd fails.
Here is my example code:
int my_thread(...)
{
pid=fork();
if (pid==EAGAIN || pid==ENOMEM)
{
abort();
}
switch(pid)
{
case 0: // child
{
system ("/usr/sbin/pppd call gprs");

system ID tool boxHow can i convert the estimated models from discrete time to get an
'S' function? I have an input y(t) and an output u(t). how do i get a
continous time equation ? How can i represent Y(S) = G(S) * U(S) ?
where G(S) is the transfer function.
Thanks
I am assuming that you are using the System Identification Toolbox. If so,
sys_tf_continous = tf(d2c(sys_est_discrete))
I would suggest also looking at idproc models.

beam forming systemAll, my apologies if this has been addressed a thousand times.. but I nee
help on the following.
I have constructed a simple receiver system that obtains the direction o
arrival (two antennas) of a impinging signal. The receiver is a softwar
defined radio receiver; I am using the AD6620 and AD6600 parts from Analo
devices. This presents me with a problem. I know how to calculate the angl
of arrival of the incoming signal when I have the phase shift between th
two signals in radians, this is fine.
But the AD6620 presents me with a nominal Q value referenced to th
