  • Follow

Hi.

I need setup a sendmail to send emails using smtp server with auth
sendmail version is 8.12.10+sun/8.12.5

I found some information how to setup this, but all changes are
pointed to mc file. Unfortunately I can't find mc file at this server
in /etc/mail

server sun solaris 5.9

Thanks for any help.

"sendmail" by Bryan Costales with Eric Allman & Neil Rickert 761 pages
available from O'Reilly & Associates, Inc. or good technical book stores.

If you don't NEED sendmail, there are alternatives. It's a relic of the
dark ages of computing!

sendmail can use any of several protocols for handling mail. Most of
these protocols have been replaced by SMTP.

Look in /etc/mail/cf/cf. You'll probably want sendmail.mc. There should
be a Makefile in there as well to help you generate the final .cf file.
