With some web search, I could find that we need to install the sftp
logging patch for the openSSH version earlier than 4.5.
http://sftplogging.sourceforge.net/
In that case, I would like to know the default Solaris/Linux release
that contains this openSSH version4.5 by default.

Could anybody elaborate on where and what are logged with this patch? I
still haven't installed it.

Frankly, if all you're using is sftp, I wouldn't bother with SSH. Such
logging facilities are already built into Apache, and you can use
WebDAV over HTTPS. Using SSH without giving the users local accounts
on the SSH server has been a long-term issue, with a lot of not very
good solutions and only a few really thorough ones that have been
painful to implement.
