Solaris 10 floppy disk?? Subscribe

What is the secret to mounting a floppy disk under Solaris 10 SPARC?

In Solaris 8 or 9 I'd just plug the floppy into the drive, type
"volcheck" and the floppy would be mounted at /floppy/noname or
something like that.

I created the /floppy directory, put the floppy in the drive, typed
"volcheck" and nothing happened.

You should not create /floppy yourself.

make sure the volfs and smserver services are running.

As far as I can tell neither volfs nor smserver are running. How are
they supposed to be started?

volfs is maintained by vold. As for smserver, I am not quite sure.
check if SMC is running using /etc/init.d/init.wbem status.
