Solaris 10 x86 : is my network card detected?

Hello I installaed Solaris 10 on a Intel Plateform.
My network card is a Marwell Yukon.
After I follow the installation, the command ifconfig -a, only return
me lo0 (loopbak)
How can I check if my network card is well detected by Solaris (from
hardware)

Regards

I finally make success with my netwoark card.
The two commands ifconfig -a plumb and ifconfig -a return nothing.
Always only the lo0
I enter the command prtconf -pv and found a line with Ethernet string.
Even if my network card was detected, I can use it
I the download a driver fron this site :
http://www.syskonnect.de/syskonnect/support/driver/htm/skgesolx86.htm
run : pkgadd -d . SKGEsol
But I got an error during the installation (problem to attach)
I run again the command "prtconf -pv | less" and write the information
just after the line "Ethernet".
It was something like name : "pci1458.e000"
update_drv -a -i "pci1458.e000"
touch /etc/hostname.skge0
touch /etc/dhcp.skge0
ifconfig -a plumb
ifconfig -a
YES, ma card is present.
I reboot my machine, and great, my card is running and got an address
from my DHCP box.

New office network
While I'm relatively comfortable in designing a LAN with CAT6, I'm trying to get a place to start evaluating using fiber to create the LAN for a our new building and try to build in some excess capacity for the next decade. Other than phone issues which I have at least an inkling of some of the copper to fiber problems, what other areas should I watch out for? NIC's would be a problem. Switches are a problem. The major advantage I have is size; this is a 8,000 ft building in which we will use 4000 to start for our 25 employees which will increase to about 40 over the next 5 year...

problems with compilation on Solaris 9
I am a complete newbie to sendmail compilation. But I keep getting a consistent error in the compilation. My OS is Solaris 9. The sendmail version is 8.12.11. I have BerkeleyDB.4.2 installed. I am compiling with GCC-version 3.4.0. I am using the regular ../devtools/OS/SunOS.5.9 config file included with the source files. I also have a site.config.m4 file under .../devtools/Site dir. APPENDDEF(`confLIBDIRS', `-L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib -R/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib')dnl is the only line in the file. I would like to add MILTER later on after I put this compile error behi...

Build failing on Solaris

RMagick 1.10.1 win32 gem beta withdrawn
Kaspar Schiess, the RMagick Win32 guru, has confirmed that the beta RMagick 1.10.1 win32 does indeed cause problems when used in a Rails application with Ruby 1.8.4. Currently we believe this is due to an incompatibility between the mingw32 compiler that Kaspar uses to compile RMagick and the VC++ 6.0 compiler used to compile Ruby 1.8.4. After consulting with Kaspar I have withdrawn the beta RMagick 1.10.1 win32 gem until we can work out a solution and make a new gem. Kaspar regrets to say that due to time conflicts this will be no earlier than the end of May. Until a new RMagick 1.10....

Wireless network question
Hi everyone, I just bought a dell Cxp 500 piii/128/11gig hd for my wife. We have two desktops routed to dsl by a wired Linksys ethernet router. Initially I planned to add an ethernet card to the dell and simply wire it to the network. Then I read about usb/ethernet adapters. Those sounded good. But I see that Linksys offers wireless routers with ports for wired links, and J & R sells a kit for $99 that includes a wireless router and one wireless pcmcia with a max of 11 Mbps. That sounded like an option, because I wouldn't have to alter the two desktops--though it is slighly more cost...

Solaris term problem
I'm having a problem in console (not using X) on a x86 laptop. When I change the TERM variable the console changes where the # prompt starts at the top and when it gets to the bottom of the screen it erases the whole screen and starts at the top again. Any help would be appreciated. What are you setting term to? Are you using telnet across the network or hyperterminal to the serial port? v880, solaris 10, dual channel scsi cards, hangs during "boot -r"
I have a v880 with 16G memory, 3 x Sun dual channel SCSI3 with VHDCI interfaces, Solaris 10. I have 3 RAID units (Arena Maxtronic), each with dual SCSI interfaces. Each RAID is configured to present 2 LUNs to the SUN, with 2 of the interfaces presenting 3 LUNs. Bottom line, the SUN should see 14 targets from these 6 interfaces. At the OK prompt, a 'probe-scsi-all' does return all 14 of the targets described above (in addition to the system disk and cd drive). So, it seems that hardware wise, the SUN sees all my devices. But if I do a "boot -r" at the OK prompt, my system w...

Keep in mind that the T2K was the 33rd fastest supercomputer in the world, with 640 nodes, each containing 4 2.3 GHz Opteron Quad Core CPUs. This gave it a peak processing power of 94.2 Tflops (trillion floating point operations per second) versus Bellard's single Core i7 with its peak processing power of 46.9 Gflops. In other words, in raw processing power, the supercomputer, according to...

DBLIB for Solaris 10
Hi all; I'm hoping you can help. We are running an old version of Sybase (11.0.3.3), and it is rinning on an old version of SOlaris (5.6). We have a bunch of executables running on an even older Sun box, running SunOS 4.1.3_DB 2. Our developer is trying to port these executables to SOlaris 10, but still connect to the existing DB. Apparently, they're running into issues with the DBLIB, and is looking for one that is compatible with SOlaris 10. I'm including the error messages he's running into, and his description of what we need. Can anybody shed any light on where...
