Not sure if I'm missing something obvious here, but where has the
handbook gone? In the new Oracle knowledge base I see various alerts /
technical instructions for Sun systems, but I can't find the old
handbook content anywhere. (I'm mostly interested in parts lists and
system diagrams...)
Using the HTML support interface, in case that makes a difference.

The Handbook has been declared "Fantastically Secret; Burn Before
Reading". All copies will implode at midnight, December 31.

I don't know if this is the most direct route to the Sun System
Handbook,
but if you click on the Advanced button near the search feature on the
top
right of the main support window, you can then Search the handbook by
selecting it from the drop-down "in the source" menu.
Thanks,
Cindy

Thanks. That led me to <https://support.oracle.com/handbook_private/>
which seems to be a complete version of it with a much nicer interface
;-)

Nice find on the handbooks, hope Larry doesn't realize it's unlocked.
Took me an hour to figure out how to get the Recommended Patch
Clusters. Just Advanced Search, then Saved my search for future use.
I do like the part of it. Otherwise, I hope they keep improving
usability.

Now that you have publicized this chink in Oracle's armor, just how long
do you think it will last?

Maybe they are closing it now, I get:
Sorry, there was an error while checking for your credentials. The
backend seem to be down. Try again later.

Hm; I assumed it was already restricted, since SunSolve used to have
separate handbook_pub and handbook_private URLs. If not, sorry :-(

It's still working here though, after logging in.

That's exactly what I get. Previously - before MY Oracle Support took
over, a subset of the handbook was available for "free" viewing, one
could get part numbers etc.
This is an example of a pure software company buying a hardware/
software vendor and screwing things up in the hardware sector.
Oracle should realize that hardware gets resold through many channels
not the least people selling it on Ebay and on Craigslist - like
someone suggested in another post, today's hobbyist is tomorrow's
customer.

OK -- now, maybe you can TELL US how to do it.
