T3 Storage refused telnet connection

When telnet to T3, It comes up with "connection closed by foreign host."

It can be telnet before, not sure what has been changed and how to check?

Thanks!

Two possibilities leap to mind:

1. TCP Wrappers is configured and you're coming from an unauthorized
client.

2. inetd is having a problem starting up in.telnetd, perhaps because
there's a mistake in /etc/inetd.conf.

Barry,

I would be curious to know How you configured TCP wrappers on PSOS os
that runs on T3? I remember that to get syslogs forwarded to a central
log server I had to ftp files from T3 to another host, make changes and
ftp back to T3.

Also, I dont see a inetd.conf on my T3 array. I thought the PSOS os has
built in functionality to listen on port 23 for telnet requests. But
your post makes me feel that I missed a lot when I read the T3 stuff.

You can't. The previous poster is obviously confused, but then again
as this is a question about PSOS and not Solaris this doesn't really
belong in the comp.unix.solaris group - Try one of the Sun hardware groups.

PSOS is still a Unix(-ish) operating system. From memory it doesn't
actually run inetd, but it does still run a telnetd.

As for why you can't connect - probably because you're already connected.
Make sure that nobody else is telneting into the array - the T3's only
accept a single telnet session at a time.

Yeah! The question didnt start with the OP talking about PSOS. Its me
who responded to what Barry wrote. Didnt mean to digress and as you said
PSOS is still a Unix(-ish) I hope that its not completely unrelated here.

I can have multiple telnet sessions open on my T3's on my private
network. I know that most of the commands once you log in to the T3's
are not re entrant. But thats not true with opening a telnet session. I
mean having a telnet session open shouldnt stop from opening another one.
