Trial copies of Veritas Volume Manager?

I'd like to get a copy of VM to play with, at home, for the sake of my own
education.

Is there any way to obtain free copies/licenses for educational purposes?

Ummm. Let me take a wild guess. How about www.veritas.com? Seems like
a possiblility. If your University has a Veritas sales droid, why not
try contacting them.

Absolutely. You shouldn't have any trouble getting a trial code from
Veritas. I know our Veritas contacts give us a thirty day code, well, every
thirty days or so. It helps if you work for a company that has a very large
contract with Veritas.

Cheers,

Mark

A viable suggestion, were it for use within a corporate environment... but
It's for personal use.

You must be in grad school in English lit or the equivalent.

But, they still sell the license regardless of _who_ is buying it. They
own the software and the copyright regardless. Can you think of any
_legal_ alternative?

I also suggested they contact their campus rep since the OP was posting
from a college. Seemed kinda obvious to me, which was why "Obvious Man"
answered the question.

He might have been a bit clever and patronizing, but he is right.
If anyone should have trial copies of the veritas software, its veritas.
You could try one of their many resellers, they might be able to help you
borrow a copy to test the software, they probably even have time limited
licenses.

Fair answer - It confirms what I had feared: Veritas is the only venue by
which I can get a temp license. At least, knowing this, I know where to
concentrate my efforts.

I'm not sure whether to be flattered, or offended!

I am nonetheless curious: What leads you to this conclusion?
