Upgrade oddity: z7a
In order to replicate a customer site, I made a clean install of Solaris
10 u1 (from DVD), installed the recommended patches for Live Upgrade,
installed the update 5 LU packages the did an upgrade. The upgrade was
from an install server image built from the update 5 CDs.
When the upgrade completed, 745 packages were listed is failed to
upgrade. The log file showed many entries like:
Doing pkgadd of SUNWcsu to /
Cannot find required executable /usr/bin/7za
pkgadd: ERROR: class action script did not complete successfully
Installation of <SUNWcsu> failed.
Copying the filed form the install media and repeating the upgrade worked.
Has anyone else seen this?

You also needed to install SUNWp7zip from the update 5 media.

Must admit, I didn't know update 5 was using this, but Nevada
has been for some builds now.

Which "files from" spelling corrected?
I think you should pkgadd the missing package(s)..
> Has anyone else seen this?
Yes - most annoying when you are trying to sell live upgrade to a client
and something like that happens. The Infinite Wisdom group
at Sun strikes again Im afraid. Seems they are spreading their influence
from the sunsolve site to other parts of the organization : <
Be sure to remove the file(s) that warn you about the missing packages
or lu wont allow you to proceed even after you patch in the "missing" bits... : <

This is an RTFM - the %/08 Install docs include
" *
To upgrade your current Solaris 10 OS to the Solaris 10 5/08
release by using Solaris Live Upgrade, apply the following patches:
o
For SPARC systems 137321-01 or later
o
For x86 systems 137322-01 or later
Note
These patches include the new p7zip functionality. Unzip the compressed
