Hi all
I have a new install of Solaris 8. I have installed Netscape 7,
however, I can only run this program the /Netscape directory - I am
unable to run Netscape using the Globe icon (Error message: Web
browser unavailable)
I have done a little digging around on the net to see if I can work
out how to set this up, but i've not yet found an explanation of what
to do (at least not one which I understand !)
I have seen references to setting up the .profile and setting
environment variables etc, but didn't really understand exactly how to
do this
I am fairly new to Solaris so would really appreciate some
"idiot-proof" instructions on how to do this (including full paths
etc) ...
Many thanks in advance for any help
Marcus

Take a look at:
http://www.par.univie.ac.at/~martin/cde-www/
It provides an overview on how CDE selects the browser to run, and
a replacement for Sun's sdtwebclient script which supports most
common browsers.
