Skills:       PERL scripting
              Sybase 12.0 and above supporting large production
              environments.
              Knowledge of Oracle 9i and above supporting large production
              environments.
              Knowledge supporting databases on Sun and NT platforms.
              Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call
              database support.
              N-Tier application systems using JDBC/XML database access.
              Oracle RAC / database administration of high availability
              systems.
              SQL and PL/SQL
              Database Software Install/Upgrade and environment
              configuration expertise.
              Backup and Recovery expertise



Scope:        Maintain relational open systems databases (creating,
              designing, reorganizing and tuning, backup and recovery).
              Develop, maintain and implement programs, scripts and
              routines, needed to automate production database
              administration. Install Sybase (12 or above) and Oracle
              enterprise (9i or above) software, including upgrades;
              configure software according to requirements and in line
              with established enterprise standards and guidelines.
              Communicate effectively with customers to identify problems
              and work to resolve them and provide information regarding
              policies and procedures for enterprise IT client/server
              environment. Track assigned projects and resolve or escalate
              issues to appropriate management levels to ensure effective
              and timely implementation as required. Participate in
              on-call rotational database support. Provide DBA support to
              database developers(DBDs). Other duties as assigned.
